In 2015, Jubilee World acquired the former St. Mary's Orphanage building at 5341 Emerson Ave. in St. Louis. The 164,000 square feet facility has since been getting a major facelift with constant renovations. The main chapel, offices, dormitories and bathrooms have all been since remodeled. Jubilee plans to finish the entire facility in 2 years to open up to the community once again.
Construction began in the summer of 1899 and was dedicated on November of 1900 having 225 girls and 13 sisters in residence. This facility has been a community landmark and staple for over 100 years.
Constructed to be completely self-sufficient, the facility featured a large olympic sized swimming pool, main chapel, cafeteria, 2 large gyms, boiler house, offices, baking oven, laundry plant, institutional kitchen and cold storage rooms for the over 200 residence. It also had classrooms, dormitories, playrooms, work rooms, vegetable gardens and chicken coops.
The facility and main chapel once again came to life with Jubilee's 15th Anniversary Conference, concert and events for the community. The facility had not been utilized or in top working order for decades.
The new Jubilee leadership and community leaders have a vision of rebuilding the campus to it's former glory serving the neighborhood residence once again. Previous renovations were made and leadership plans to build on the foundation.
The evening of Sunday, July 9, 2017, Jubilee World hosted a successful anniversary concert, featuring five original, multi-language compositions by Jubilee members. Leaders and members, and the general public, received much joy and grace in the concert, through which God poured out His grace. All glory and thanks to God!
At Jubilee World General Assembly, guest speakers were invited to deliver lectures to Jubilee members and leaders. The lecturers each spent an hour telling their stories and sharing their experiences found in walking with Jesus Christ.
Saturday evening, on July 8, 2017, Jubilee World hosted its 15th anniversary classical concert. The concert features the conductor Ms. Elke Overton, a professional winds octet (consisting 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, and 2 horns), and Jubilee Chorus of 12 singers. Audience from Jubilee World and from the general public attended the concert with eagerness. With beauty and grace, the musical collaboration witnessed the majesty and glory of God.
Jubilee music ministry in Chennai has conducted last practice for the music night they will be holding tonight which they hope will bless many people - where Christian musicians from other churches also volunteered.
As GA approaches, Jubilee members began to hold rehearsals for Orchestra /Choir Performance. Thus, on Jun 29th, Wind Orchestra St. Louis gathered its members to rehearsal, at Jubilee campus, for 2 consecutive hours.
God is always faithful; in times of need, His love and grace always shine through. With a few weeks left until GA, Jubilee staff continue diligently working daily. The Lord sends His workers to support HQ staff day by day.
