On Friday night, September 20th, 2013, nine performers rocked the stage at Smash Studios at Jubilee Open Mic (JOM) event to glorify God while presenting their original pieces and a couple of cover songs.

Artists from various genres such as contemporary worship, hip-hop, neo-soul, opera and poetry together with a lovely host Kimberly Simmons, created good vibes during the performances as well as at meet & greet time.

JOM had present rappers, Melvin Windley aka ‘Rebelz,’ and John Vasser Jr. who kicked the night off.

Karina Haraburda and Lyndol Descant offered songs of praise and worship, while Kelsie Janel spiced the event up with her neo-soul style of music.

Singer Isaacson Buteau swept the audience with his opera piece. Karen Threats presented her original poem and a song in acoustic setting. Samuel Lynch from Brooklyn concluded the performances with the full band and three of his original songs.

Host, Kimberly Simmons who is also a singer and a songwriter, spontaneously joined the artist line up and sang one of her favorite songs.

Meet & greet time provided an atmosphere to fellowship, exchange contact and promotional material as well as a change to get involved in various ministries within Jubilee World NYC such as Jubilee Worship, The Jubilee Chorus and Jubilee Open Mic itself.

Next JOM will be held on Friday, October 18, at Funkadelic Studios, 209 W 40th Street, 5th Floor, NYC 10018.
