Jubilee World NYC forms new band; names of music & vocal directors announced

Jubilee World NYC is forming a new worship band with the purpose to serve local community in the New York City while bringing joy and glory to God.

After a several-week long search for music and vocal directors, Jubilee World NYC now announces Karina Haraburda as a worship leader/ vocal director for the newly forming praise band, and Lyndol Descant will arrange songs and direct the musicians in the band.


Haraburda will direct vocal parts within the band and will play an important role to lead the congregation to worship, while Descant will take care of the musical instruments and players within the band.

Jubilee World NYC staff held the meeting with the two candidates on Monday evening to discuss topics such as responsibility of both directors, the purpose of the newly forming band. After the meeting, the candidates and the staff took time to reflect and pray over the decisions to be made.

Jubilee World NYC staff shares, “Few weeks ago, Karina Haraburda came to Jubilee Open Mic to perform. She comes to JOM each time ever since. Once, during meet&greet time we talked, she looked very passionate about worship and shared that she would like to collaborate with Jubilee. ”

“I met Lyndol Descant also at Jubilee Open Mic , and after the announcements at the event during which was mentioned that we’re looking for a music director, she expressed her interested in the position. During our meeting I could see she’s knowledgeable in music and leading people. She also liked the vision for the newly forming band and decided to collaborate with Jubilee World NYC,” staff shared.

Currently, Karina Haraburda and Lyndol Descant along with the managing staff are setting up the steps for the upcoming auditions to find the musicians and singers to join the band.

Descant, Haraburda and Jubilee World NYC staff is now in the process of deciding the name for the band. The name for the newly forming band is to be announced soon!

About Karina Haraburda:
Karina Haraburda is a passionate worshiper devoted to praise and worship the one true God - Jesus Christ. She was Born in the Dominican Republic and was raised in the ways of the Lord, she is also priviledged to be the fifth generation of dedicated women of God in her family, since very young she started to sing in church in a group called "The Missionettes" directed by her aunt Victoria Rodriguez. When she was 12 years old her family emigrated to United States of America and settled in New York. With lack of fatherly love and without social acceptance, she felt a huge void and shortly after, she started to seek God and that is when she began to feel the love of the heavenly Father, never experienced before and she surrendered her life to Jesus Christ at the age of 14 years old. Immediately she began a personal relationship with Jesus and developed a love for music and singing to the living God. Karina shares a message of HOPE AND LOVE through everything she does. About Lyndol Descant:
She rode the waves of her passion for Music to Canada, Europe and back. Her faith has guided her every step of the way. Fearless in her pursuit of mastering her craft.

She has worked with greats like Peter Giron, Steve Browman and Keri Chryst at the American School of Modern Music in Paris and Kenny Bibase at McGill Conservatory in Montreal, Quebec. As a perpetual Student, she is always hungry to learn more. She believes Music is a gift from God meant to be shared with love and dedication. Her aim is to be an instrument for Divine love and Healing.
She has worked extensively as a Solo Artist, as well as with various bands and ensembles in the Austin, Paris, and Houston music scenes before moving to NYC in 2012.

She cherished her Role as Music Minister for Savior Anglican Church in Magnolia, Texas. But currently, she is enjoying her role as Keyboardist and Back up Vocalist for World Impact Ministries in Bushwich, Brooklyn. She also teaches private and group lessons at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Rosehill Music Studio in Westchester, and Wingspan in Manhattan. As well as a her own private roster of music students.
