On December 19, Jubilee Chorus and Jubilee String Orchestra in New York City (NYC) held a 7 p.m. Christmas Concert at German Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's Church (315 West 22nd Street).

24 Jubilee NYC members performed during the Christmas concert. The final rehearsal atmosphere had been full of grace and their hearts were united as they gathered together to praise God.

Starting out, the Jubilee String Orchestra performed P. Tchaikovsky's (1840-1893) Nutcracker Suite "Overture Miniature," "March," "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy," "Trepak, Arabian Dance," and "Waltz of the Flowers."

After the orchestra performance, Jubilee Chorus performed "Carol of the Bells," "Amen," "Go Tell It on The Mountain," "The Christmas Song," and "Joyful Joyful."

The last performance was a collaboration where Jubilee Chorus and Orchestra performed "Be Still My Soul," "It is Well with My Soul," "Who Would Imagine a King," "Why We Sing," and "Joy To the World".

The String Orchestra parts were arranged by Jubilee Chorus composer Bill Heigen and pianist Grace Sun.

A member of the audience shared, "The beauty of the music prompted me to thank God for His beauty and power. Only God can create such marvelous music. May these songs of praise bring glory and comfort to God."

The audience member went on, "I was thankful to God that He could use the Jubilee members so gracefully. I wanted to have the program so I could find the songs and listen to them and meditate on some of them. I'm sure Jubilee will create live concert recordings that many people will want to get to remind them of the grace they received."

"In the midst of an atmosphere where Christmas is becoming like any other holidays and losing its true meaning, it was a very joyful night with people who gathered to greet the night of Jesus's birth with songs of praise," she said.

Lastly, the concertgoer said, "I pray that all the music ministries in Jubilee World and NYC, the biggest city and most secular city in the world, may continue to grow and fill this city with praises."

A manager on the Jubilee NYC staff reflected, "I kept praying that God pours out all of His grace to the people who attended the concert. We don't realize how much our praises are important and precious to God."

"God blessed the concert. When I manage concerts there are difficulties, however I learn many things and I believe God is using and leading Jubilee strongly," she added.

The manager also shared, "I appreciate our Jubilee musicians and recognize that, as some members have testified, they have misunderstood God and been hurt from Christians, but when they sing in Jubilee they can open their hearts without fear."

Looking ahead, she encouraged, "Praise God! Please pray for Jubilee NYC. Jubilee NYC needs your prayers and support to extend its mission, healing God's people and glorifying God."

Jubilee NYC will hold a meeting for the coming year of 2016 to discuss its mission plan with directors, staff, and interns. Please pray for Jubilee NYC's Mission to spread the gospel and God's love through music with new hope.
