The Jubilee Chorus and Nyack College Chorale Retreat

On Saturday, April 5th in preparation for our first mission together "A Reflection on the Season of Lent Concert," this Friday, April 11th The rehearsal began with a collective prayer. Dr. Swanson subsequently had each member from their respective choirs introduce themselves. Members took time to share a little about their background in music. After a brief warm-up, choir members rehearsed the Son of God Mass (James Whitbourn).

Dudley, one of the Nyack Chorale members, joined us at the start of the rehearsal, where he graced us with his beautiful playing of the soprano saxophone. 

It was evident that every member was very enthusiastic and motivated to rehearse, and both choir's voices meshed beautifully, sounding angelic, graceful, and deeply spiritual. The rehearsal closed in prayer, and following the rehearsal, members enjoyed delicious pizza, soda, and conversation. As a special surprise, Victory, one of the Nyack Chorale members also celebrated his birthday, and both choirs sang him Happy Birthday, and had some delicious cake to follow.

Jubilee Chorus and The Nyack College Chorale will meet for our first performance together at 7:30, at the Eloheim Christian Church in Richmond Hill, NY.

All in all, it was a blessed and fun afternoon. Everyone was excited and thankful for this opportunity to worship together, and to learn from one another.
